We Stayed for the Friends

Awards. It's nice to get acknowledged. I once did a rant that there were too many blogging awards. I realized shortly after that I was totally wrong. (Who'da thunk?) There can never be enough. At the time I was writing the blog The Rising Blogger and I was taking the whole thing too seriously. Judd Corizan and I were putting in an awful lot of time in with that blog. We found a great blogger to carry on that work. We really appreciate the occassional "pat on the back"!

Today we were honored twice and we are humbled and grateful. Vinny from The Big Leather Couch awarded us the Friends Prize. The following rules came with this prize: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-writtentext into the body of their award.

So we award this to:

Jodi from Moody Blue
Lori from Hahn at Home
Debbie from Through Thick and Thin
Linda from Are We There Yet?
Kimber from Life in a Zoo
Berleen from A Straight Jacket and a Padded Room
Dawn from Twisted Sister

Debbie from Through Thick and Thin awarded us the Neno Award. The aims of this award:* As a dedication for those who love blogging and love to encourage friendships through blogging.* To seek the reasons why we all love blogging.* Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.* Don't forget to mention the person who gives you the award.* Answer the awards question by writing the reason why you love blogging.* Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.* Don't forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.

We will award:

Starr from Here Comes A Girl
Crimson from Passionate Pleasures
Lyn from A Blog in the Rough
Tilli from Duck Life

Why do we blog? We came for the laughs. We stayed for the friends.

We will do Thursday Thunks next time.
Perhaps you'll join WTIT: The Blog again.
Peace!

Rising Blogger lives on. There is satisfaction in that. We don't have to find the posts anymore. There is satisfaction in that too.
(smile)

Congrats and thank you!

Mimi-
I'm proud of what we did, but I don't miss a moment. It's really know a Post of the Month thing. Which is probably MORE realistic...

I'm proud of us too! We did, I believe, set the standard for awarding posts and not blogs in the blogosphere. I think it was the first such site of its kind.
But it was a full-time job and you are right - I do not miss that at all!
